Short version
Tauchring does not collect, transmit or sell any personal data. Everything you enter — your children's names, ages, badge progress, pool visits and certificate photos — stays on your own iPhone or iPad. There is no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising. The app works fully offline.
What you enter into the app
Tauchring stores the following information, entirely on your device, inside the app's own protected storage area:
- Your children's first names, birthdays, swim club and usual pool
- Which Deutsches Schwimmabzeichen requirements have been practised, and when
- Pool-visit logs: date, pool, distance, dives, jumps, strokes and notes
- Which Baderegeln cards you have talked through with your child
- Records of badges already passed, including date, pool, examiner and an optional photo
None of this leaves your device. Tauchring has no server to send it to.
Camera
Tauchring asks for camera access only when you tap "Take photo" while recording a badge Urkunde. The photo is saved directly into the app's own storage on your device. It is never uploaded anywhere.
Photo library
You can choose an existing photo of a badge or certificate using Apple's built-in photo picker, which does not require any permission and never gives Tauchring access to your wider photo library. If you use the share sheet to save a generated progress card or photo back into your library, Tauchring requests add-only permission for that single action.
Notifications
If you turn on the optional weekly swim-day reminder in Settings, Tauchring asks for notification permission at that moment. The reminder is scheduled and delivered entirely on your device; no notification content is sent to or generated by any server.
Third parties
Tauchring includes no advertising network, no analytics SDK and no third-party tracking of any kind. No data is shared with, or sold to, anyone.
Children's privacy
Tauchring is designed to be used by a parent or guardian on their own device to track their child's swimming progress. The app itself does not collect data from children — it is the parent who enters information about their child, and that information never leaves the parent's device.
Your choices
You can erase a single child, or everything Tauchring has stored, at any time from Settings → Your data. Deleting the app also deletes all of its data, since nothing is stored anywhere else.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
